About LiveClick

Adds feed reading, notifications, favicons, and other enhancements to Live Bookmarks. (Addon for Firefox)

LiveClick 0.3.7.0

LiveClick 0.3.7.0 is a maintenance release that fixes a few bugs and tightens the code a bit. Note that due to upcoming incompatibilities, this may be the last version of LiveClick to support Firefox 3.0. We continue to develop for Firefox 3.5, 3.6, and beyond, so please consider upgrading if you haven’t already.

Download v0.3.7.0 (Firefox 3.0 - 3.6.*)

Fully localized in 0.3.7.0: en-US, ca-AD, de-DE, fr-FR, hu-HU, it-IT, ko-KR, nl-NL, pl-PL, sv-SE, zh-TW

0.3.7.0 Changelog:
* Feed fetching identifies as user agent “X-Moz: Live Bookmarks”
* Registered “LiveClick Alert” with OS notifications (e.g. Growl)
* Corrected spacing for toolbar livemarks without counters
* Resolved conflict with [Ext] Add Bookmark Here 2
+ Bug fix: Preview tooltips re-appear more consistently
* Likely to be the last LiveClick to support Firefox 3.0

Known issues:
- Monitored Live Bookmarks may fail to alert on new items
- Bookmark properties dialog does not properly size for locales with long strings
- “Open All in Tabs” does not recognize Live Bookmark locations
- Live Bookmarks history inconsistent while in Private Browsing mode
- Live Bookmarks show up as history and persist across sessions
- [Ext] Xmarks wants to sync more often when using custom Site Locations

I think someone mentioned this to you already, but Liveclick is broken on Minefield nightlies for the past few weeks. Congrats on the new release though.

We won’t officially support the next version of Firefox until the first beta, though the problem will be fixed when we beta test the next LiveClick. (That should start within a week, if all goes as planned.)

Thanks for the comments, everyone. I greatly appreciate your encouragement!

Hello

Great extension, but the 0.3.0.7 update broke that feature that if I click with the middle button of my mouse, all no read entry is open in tabs.

RollBack to 0.3.0.6 and it’s works.

Thans you.
Regards

There’s a problem with liveclick and Google News RSS, and it happened after installing 0.3.7.0. I can still view the news feed via the dropdown menus, but when i click a link to any news link, it won’t load. I tried to roll back to 0.3.6.0, but now the problem persists. I don’t know if this is a problem with 0.3.7.0 or if it’s a google rss issue.

Updated to 0.3.7.0 but seemed to have an issue automatically loading my live bookmarks. Most didn’t appear to load at all regardless of the interval set, and of the few that did, only one provided notification of new items. Possibly a conflict with other extensions? Running Firefox 3.6.3, rolling back to Liveclick 0.3.6.0 has alleviated the problem. More information available upon request.

Xefir, Isky: I have not been able to reproduce your respective problems. 0.3.7.0 didn’t make any changes to the clicking functions of LiveClick, so I don’t know why you’re seeing those problems now.

Isky: Does that happen to all feeds, or just the Google News RSS? If it’s just Google News, could you please share the exact URL of the feed?

Andy: Yep, that’s a bug. There’s a localization error which I overlooked during my attempt to get alerts working on Macs. This will be fixed soon. When exactly depends on how quickly I can locate/address any other issues.

Thanks for your help everyone!

LiveClick 0.3.7.0 automatically marks all “new” items as “unread” items. No more alerts when my Live Bookmarks have any updates :( ...

I see that it is a known issue and hope that your team can fix it soon. BTW, thanks for LiveClick. It’s my favourite extension on Firefox!

Hi, I have been using this extension for some time now, and i do like it.

When I updated to LiveClick 0.3.7.0 confusing things happened.

Some livemarks were uodated, others not.

And on the appearance tab I have Livemarks and Items read and unread as Orange, but mostly they were Boldface.

I downgraded to 0.3.6 and after closing and opening FF several times, things were back to normal.

So for testing purposes I opened a brand new FF profile without and installed 0.3.7 on it.

The not updating problem disappeared, New and Unread Livemarks are Orange, Items are Boldface even though on the settings I have choosen Orange.

Thanks for this great addon.

This is baffling me. I just went through the whole code comparing 0.3.7.0 against 0.3.6.0, and I couldn’t find any differences that would cause all these problems (except the alert bug which I confirmed above).

If you’re having problems with 0.3.7.0, please try out this test build and see if it fixes anything. The alert bug is the only thing I knowingly addressed in this build.

Download LiveClick 0.3.8.0 (Test Build)

Thanks for your patience and support!

I did an upgrade from 0.3.7 to 0.3.8 on my test profile and it is OK now.

Its updating correctly and Livemarks and Items are Orange, as configured.

I will upgrade my real profile tomorrow and give feedback. Today is a bit late and I always wait until Liveclick self updates.

I will report on that.

Again many thanks for the addon, I don’t want to miss it.

It’s OK now.

I upgraded my FF real profile from 0.3.6.0 to the 0.3.8.0 test build and it’s working as it should.

Thank you very much.

Thanks for the report, Mektub. If anyone else has tried the test build, please let me know if it fixes your problems or not. I’d like to release an official build as quickly as possible.

Thanks again!

My alerts stopped working in 0.3.7.0 as well, so I tried the 0.3.8.0 test build and it looks like the issue is resolved as I am getting notifications on new items again. Thanks for the resolution!

Hello

I test the test build, and now it’s works.

Thank you.
