Now that I’m using Fx 4 beta 10 (with Add-On Compatibility Reporter installed), I have one feature request. Let LiveClick allow the placement of the Subscribe icon that was removed from the Location Bar back to the Location Bar.

As a matter of fact the 4.0.0b2 version works better with ff4.0 betas than with FF3.6.*.

It doesn’t hang up the browser as it did withe 3.6,
and accept Xmarks issue it seem to be no need to fix anything.

the beta version works perfectly with the latest beta (even with the nightly)

just install the “add-on compatibility reporter” add-on and it will skip the version check of the beta (this will do the same all your other incompatible add-ons, both with the already installed and the ones you install)

I first downloaded LiveClick when Brief wasn’t working in Firefox 4 and now I just cant use Fx without this extension anymore.

Hello. I took some days to check how Brief and LiveClick work together. Brief works perfectly when the feeds are updated. The problem is just this: keeping the feeds updated. LiveClick doesn’t work perfectly everytime. I set it to check automatically for new items every 1 minute and Brief as well, but LiveClick sometime updates the feeds and sometime it doesn’t. I checked the websites of the feeds which I’m subscribed to, and there were new items. Manual updating works good instead.

Apparently the comments feed of this entry has bugs that keeps Brief from picking up new posts.

And e-mail notification doesn’t show who posted the comment that triggered the notification.

Thanks for your ideas, but couldn’t get it to work, but you got me thinking. After a bit of searching i found a solution:

Option #3. This is the geekiest option of them all but one that doesn’t require you to change anything inside Firefox.

You can download the extension (the .xpi file) to your computer, unzip it and change the value of em:maxVersion under install.rdf file to 4.0.* – now pack the extension again and drag-n-drop to your Firefox browser. Please refer to mozillaZine for detailed step-by-step instructions.”

Now it’s working again and I’m a happy camper again.

That is a good question Harboe. Did you try downloading the .xpi file (save as) and dragging it into the Addon tab of FF after you installed the Addon Compatibility Reporter?

If that doesn’t work you could google a download for FF b6, install it, install LiveClick. Then upgrade to b7 and force it to work with the Compatibility Reporter.

If all else fails, you can disable the compatibility check temporarily: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/21478/how-to-bypass-firefox-4.0-betas-incompatible-add-on-error-and-install-extensions-anyway/ .

I can’t even get it to install. Had to make a fresh install to get Firefox 4b7 working normally, so maybe you had it from before cyruz?

Anyone know a way to force installing addons, that have a version limitation?

In the meantime, I found out that this addon still works if you ‘force’ it to using the Addon Compatibility Reporter Addon Mozilla made for the FF4 beta builds.

Try that.

I think I found a bug in beta2. When you try to delete a grayed out RSS folder it doesn’t work. I had to go to the bookmarks manager and then delete it from there.
