Feed reading
Easily distinguish the Live Bookmark items you’ve read from the ones you haven’t.
LiveClick makes it easier to distinguish live bookmark items that are new from the ones you’ve already read. By default, new items are orange and read items are faded out. LiveClick also styles the livemarks themselves and their parent folders. If a live bookmark has new items, it’s orange, as is its parent folder. If you have read all items of a live bookmark, the livemark is faded out. Live bookmarks with new items additionally show a counter of new items inside.

Live Bookmarks + LiveClick.
Live bookmarks with new items are orange, as are the new items. Live bookmarks that are marked as read appear faded out, as do any read items. Folders containing updated live bookmarks are also orange.
You can customize the appearance of live bookmark items, livemarks, and parent folders, using a number of pre-installed styles. Other options include “Not displayed”, “Boldface”, and “Custom”. You can also hide the counter in LiveClick’s Options.
Live bookmark item previews
Currently when you move your mouse cursor over a live bookmark item, a tooltip will appear showing the full title of the item, which is only useful if the title is so long that it’s cut off in the menu. With LiveClick, you’ll see the full title plus a preview of the item:

Item Previews.
Hover over a live bookmark item to preview its contents.
When you move to another item, the previously previewed item is marked as unread if new. You can change this behavior to mark a previewed item as read or to do nothing. You can also opt to disable item previews entirely.
Read as you browse
When you click a live bookmark item, the requested page is loaded in your browser and the item is marked as read. You can always return to the live bookmark menu and select another item to view, but it’s often more natural to navigate to another link on the page you’re already browsing. LiveClick attempts to track such browsing, especially if it’s related to a live bookmark’s feed. If you follow a link that is also in the feed, the respective item is marked as read. If you visit a live bookmark’s home page, any new items in the feed are marked as seen.

Appearance Options.
Customize the appearance of your livemarks via LiveClick’s Options dialog.
Important! Firefox must be set to keep history for at least one day in order to accurately store your Live Bookmarks history and favicons. Beyond that, LiveClick will automatically determine when to clean up your Live Bookmarks history.
Why are all my Live Bookmarks orange?
If a livemark (otherwise known as a Live Bookmark folder) is orange, that means the Live Bookmark has new items. If you view that menu, you can easily see which items are new, because they’ll be orange, too. When you click an item, close the menu, or open another folder, the Live Bookmark is no longer considered new and the livemark and its items revert to their normal appearance.
After you install LiveClick for the first time, many of your Live Bookmarks may appear to be new, even though you’ve already seen most of the items. This is unavoidable, but LiveClick will track your Live Bookmark history more accurately after that first update.
How do I use my own custom feed reading style?
If you prefer something other than the built-in styles, you may use your own custom style. To do this, add a few lines to your userChrome.css. Here’s an example:
/* Make new items blue */
.bookmark-item[liveclick=“customnew”]
{ color: blue !important; }
Open up LiveClick’s Options and go to the “Appearances” pane. Choose “Custom” as the setting for New Items. Restart Firefox. When you next check a menu with new items, the items should be blue now.
You can also customize the feed’s style, by adding lines similar to the ones above, except replacing liveclick=“customnew” with the phrase liveclickfeed=“customnew” . Also acceptable are the tokens “customread” and “customunread” .

Why do “read” Live Bookmark items become “unread” again?
Firefox must be set to keep history for at least one day in order to accurately store your Live Bookmarks history and favicons. Beyond that, LiveClick will automatically determine when to clean up your Live Bookmarks history. If your browsing history is disabled and later re-enabled, all Live Bookmark items will revert to “new” or “unread” status.
